Your "Obstruction" series has a very early Japanese woodblock print aesthetic: a tree or some natural element punctuates the landscape. However, I don't think your natural elements are truly obstructing the landscape. Rather, the viewer really has the choice to look at the tree, or to consider the landscape behind. I think the foreground and the space behind work well together, and give each other meaning.

I am particularly drawn to your photos of the sun. I think it was a bold choice to make your composition entirely about this light source. In a way, that choice abstracts the entire photo. Even though we can see some of the darkened landscape, it really is too dark to dwell on. The sun becomes the focus of the photo, but, in it star-burst form, it too is to a certain extent abstracted.
